
The Junkers Ju 88 was a twin-engine aircraft with piston engines from Junkers Flugzeug- und Motorenwerke (JFM), which was produced from 1939 to 1945.
The Ju 88 was one of the standard combat aircraft of the Air Force of the German Reich . The machine, originally designed as a fast horizontal and dive bomber , was used with various modifications as a long-range bomber, torpedo bomber , minelayer, maritime or long-range reconnaissance aircraft, for weather observation , as a destroyer , night fighter , tank destroyer or as a deep-attack aircraft. With 14,882 machines built [1] , the Ju-88 production was one of the largest armament programs of the German Reich in the Second World War .
